Transportation assistance

The Canadian Cancer Society strives to provide access to safe and reliable transportation for people living with cancer receiving active treatment at approved cancer treatment facilities.

With the kindness and support of volunteer drivers, cancer patients only need to worry about getting better and beating cancer for good.

The Volunteer Driver Program in Calgary and Edmonton provides free transportation for cancer patients to and from cancer treatment centres.

As a volunteer driver, you'll pick up patients and take them to their treatment centre. You'll be there to offer friendly support and kindness at a time when they need it the most. And when their treatment is done, you'll make sure they get home safely.

Volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society is a great opportunity to make a difference in someone's life, be part of a team, share your experience, learn new skills and develop lasting friendships. We'll provide ongoing training and support for you to develop and grow in your new role.

To become a volunteer driver, contact the Volunteer Coordinator in Calgary (403) 205-3966 or in Edmonton at (780) 455-7181.
