Group support

If you or someone close to you has cancer, you can benefit from the emotional, social and practical support of others who are going through the same experience.

Canadian Cancer Society peer support groups do not provide psychotherapy, however group discussions co-facilitated by trained and screened volunteers may help to relieve some of your stress and isolation.

Canadian Cancer Society peer support groups include: 

  • Inspiring Hope Support Group Series consists of eight two-hour sessions. Led by experienced professionals along with cancer survivors, the sessions are structured but also provide flexibility in format and topics.  

Check with your local Canadian Cancer Society office or call CancerConnection at 1 800 263-6750, Monday to Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
