Peer support programs

If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer and would like to talk to someone who has had a similar experience, call the Canadian Cancer Society. We can help you find the support you need.

Our peer support services are free and confidential. They include:

One-to-one support

Some communities offer one-to-one visits with survivors or caregivers.

Group support

Many communities offer group support meetings for people living with cancer and their caregivers. The types of groups available vary regionally.

Telephone support

Our toll-free telephone support service for people living with cancer and their caregivers provides access to screened and trained volunteers across the country.

CancerConnection

You can access any of the above forms of support by calling 1 800 263-6750 for CancerConnection, the Canadian Cancer Society's peer support program.

Other community resources

If we don't have the support you're looking for, we can help you find it. Contact your local Canadian Cancer Society office or search our community services locator for more information about other resources available in your community.
