There are two ways you can submit a volunteer application form:

Jail-N-Bail - 2009 committee positions
Join the fight at this year’s Canadian Cancer Society Jail-N-Bail, the annual fundraiser that sends otherwise law-abiding citizens to the slammer. For more information or to register, visit cancer.ca/ab/jailnbail.
Jail-N-Bail - 2009 day of event volunteers Help fight back by being a day of event volunteer! We need volunteers to help us with the "felons" of the day. We are looking for volunteers to fill the following positions.

Attributes: |
We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working with people and are reliable, dependable, and honest.
The following positions are available:
Bailiff - confident and outgoing volunteer you will be using a microphone and addressing the celebrity judge as well as the public and the jailbirds. A good sense of humour, quick wit and verbal skills are an asset.
Greeter - Friendly and outgoing. Excellent people skills are an asset. You will be greeting jailbirds and helping them stay relaxed and welcomed while they wait for their turn in front of the judge.
Hotline room operator - good telephone skills and penmanship are assets. You will be taking calls from the stool pigeons and setting up arrest times.
Photographer - Excellent people skills, computer and graphic design skills are an asset. You will be taking photos of the jailbirds and processing them on-site.
Warden - Excellent people skills are an asset. You will be preparing jailbirds for their stay with us by assisting them filling out forms and using phones.
Jury Member - Witty, sense of humor and great people skills. You will be assisting the judge and hearing the pleas of the jailbirds.
Dispatcher - Excellent organizational skills and strong knowledge of the city. You will be coordinating the schedules for pickup of jailbirds.
Return Driver Coordinator - Excellent organizational and strong communication skills, and knowledge of the city. You will be coordinating the return drives of jailbirds to their place of work.
Clean Up Crew - Attention to detail. Help with clean up after the event is over at 4 p.m.

- A security clearance and personal references will be required for positions that will handle cash
- Drivers will need to produce a valid drivers licence, proof of vehicle insurance and registration |

Daffodil Days - March 2010
The daffodil has become the symbol of hope for people living with cancer. Every spring, Canadian Cancer Society volunteers are busy delivering and selling bright, yellow daffodils to help raise money in support of the fight against cancer. Volunteers are the lifeblood of this campaign.

Drivers - Dates to be announced. Pickup daffodils and delivery to offices in and around Edmonton. Starting point is the Muttart Conservatory Greenhouses, 9626-96A Street. |

Leadership Committee Charis, Team Retention & Recruitment Chairs, Event Operations Chairs, Fundraising Chairs and Survivior Chairs. Sub Committee positions may include: recruitment and retention, relationship building, recognition, logistics, health and safety, marketing/communications, mission delivery, entertainment and activities, luminaries, volunteers, food and beverage, registration and accounting, team fundraising, corporate support, survivor recruitment and recognition. |

Qualifications: |
- A strong interest in organizing fundraising events
- Ability to work with other team members and sub committee members
- The position require at least 10-15 hours of work per month dependant upon position

Be a part of the celebration of cancer survival, a tribute to the lives of loved ones and a night of fun, entertainment, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer. Positions involving monies will require a criminal records check before volunteering for the event. |

Qualifications: |
We have several positions open with varying shifts of 4-6 hours
Site set-up crew - Assist with set up of the site including tables, chairs, signage equipment and various activities (daytime).
Site take-down crew - Assist with take down of the site (morning).
Luminary/candle set up - Play in a giant sand box! Prepare luminary bags by filling them with sand, a candle and placing luminaries around the track (morning).
Luminary/candle sales - Assist with on-site sales of luminaries and lighting luminaries at dusk (evening).
Team Captain check-in - Work with other volunteers to register teams, including distribuation of various information and materials to team captains (afternoon - evening).
Crowd Control - Positions: traffic directors, control marked crosswalks and high traffic areas, monitor activity on the track and report concerns, site security (evening - night)
Food Services - Assist with the food services and general clean up of the service then and area. Positions: ticket taker, server and cleaning crew (supper, midnight lunch, breakfast)
Volunteer registration check-in - Help register and direct event volunteers as necessary (daytime, evening, morning).
Information Services - Provide general event information and answer questions received from the public (evening).
Environmental Crew - General clean up of the event site and removal of waste/garbage to designated collection bins (evening, night, morning).
Survivor/VIP Reception check in - Assist with cancer survivor registration prior to the reception. Positions: Survivor registration, reception set up, host/hostess and parade coordinators (evening)
Volunteer relief - Fill in and relieve volunteers as assigned (daytime, evening).
Cancer Smart Shop - Assist with set up/take down of displays, activities and provide participants with Canadian Cancer Society information brochures. Positions: Tent Host, Game Lead, Activities Coordinator (evening)
Entertainment - Assist with event entertainment and ceremonies (evening, night).
Parking Services - Monitor drop-off zone and assist participants with event parking. |

Major Gifts Cabinet
When: Ongoing
Where: Volunteers required from all areas of Alberta and the Northwest Territories
Requirements: The Canadian Cancer Society is currently recruiting senior leadership volunteers to sit on the Major Gifts Cabinet. The Society would like to have 12 representatives from different communities and economic sectors throughout the Alberta/NWT Division. As a Major Gifts Cabinet member you would be asked to take leadership in identifying, cultivating and soliciting prospective donors, as well as recruiting senior leadership volunteers who will assist with prospect entrees and solicitations. CancerConnection - Peer support volunteers CancerConnection is a peer support program that matches cancer patients and caregivers with survivors and others who have had similar cancer journeys. Volunteers are required on an ongoing basis to provide emotional support to newly diagnosed cancer patients.

As a volunteer driver you will pick patients up from their home and take them to the Cross Cancer Institute for treatment appointments.
